Arbitrary detention bill triggers memory of handmaids and other detractors

The scenario is one take on the Colonies, which were used in the novels to threaten handmaids and other detractors into submission.

‘The first thing was to capture the dehumanization. These women have already been stripped of their names and their freedoms and their economic power and their autonomy over their own bodies and here they’re stripped of their womanhood — they’re turned into nothing’.

In The Handmaid’s Tale, the colonies were used to threaten the women and other detractors into submission. Once in the concentration camps their job was to clean up toxic dumps and other environmental wastes.

The Handmaid’s Tale is a story of existence in dystopian Gilead which is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state. Women whose middle-class lives vanished overnight are now kept in servitude by elite couples, raped and forced to bear the infertile couple’s children.

Over dramatic maybe but this COVID-19 hoax has been nothing short of daily surprises, none of them pleasant. And so I fear that a proposed bill already passed by the legislative assembly of the Victorian Parliament may usher in the power to put away those who criticise and refuse to go along with draconian public health orders.

I am deeply concerned about the fate of Victorians who are at the mercy of a few independent members of the Victorian parliament. I fear that the passing of a new bill will allow the detainment of those of us who refuse the expected coronavirus vaccine. Where will we be taken? How will our disobedience be punished?

The COVID-19 Omnibus (Emergency Measures) and Other Acts Amendments Bill 2020 has been described as “one of the most horrific attacks on democratic freedoms introduced by a Western Government”.

Section 200 of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 sets out the emergency powers that may be given to authorised officers by the Chief Health Officer during a declared state of emergency.

These powers:

To detain any person or group of persons in an emergency area for the period reasonably necessary to eliminate or reduce a serious risk to public health;

  • to restrict the movement of any person or group of persons within an emergency area;
  • to prevent any person or group of persons from entering an emergency area;
  • to give any other direction that the authorised officer considers is reasonably necessary to protect public health.

I fear that this part of the proposed legislation may be used against people who do not consent to COVID-19 vaccination.

I live in Melbourne, a once bubbling city which is on its knees and where previously free citizens have been forced to follow draconian laws due to the hoax that is this coronavirus plandemic.

Therefore I demand that the crossbenchers in the Victorian parliament use their vote and stop the passage of this draconian bill. We need our State to go back to the beautiful, free democracy that it was.

I see this Bill as, essentially a new “preventative detention regime” being pushed by the Andrews government, which will allow those authorised to detain innocent citizens they believe may be likely to fail to comply with a direction. This legislation is unprecedented, and holds no provision for those detained to challenge the decision to detain them as a public health risk.

I ask these politicians who have the power to put a stop to this bill to consider the COVID-19 vaccine. It is the wish of governments both state and federal to have the population of Australia vaccinated once a vaccine is manufactured.

Victorians have been in varying stages of lockdown for 6 months and the public have rightly had more than enough of it.

We are currently still in Stage 4 lockdown where:

  • The only four reasons that you can leave home are for shopping for food or other essential items and for one hour exercise a day.
  • Social distancing
  • Mandatory mask wearing
  • Only one person from a household can do the shopping
  • Travel is limited to 5KM from home
  • Childcare and school are only now about to resume
  • Work permits must be carried at all times
  • Most industry and unessential retail cancelled
  • Libraries and churches closed
  • No family visits
  • We are not permitted to travel to regional Victoria
  • This makes us prisoners

Our frustration over this situation is mounting.

It remains to be seen if the public will line up ‘en masse’ so they can resume their lives. I fear they will, if not freely but under duress.

Politicians owe it to Victorians to be as educated as possible when it comes to vaccines. Vaccines do not consist of a bit of virus and some salty water. Vaccines usually take many years to come to fruition so the announcement that Australians might have access to this vaccine by early next year is crazy. Even so the race is on in earnest.

In 2011 the US supreme court ruled vaccines “unavoidably unsafe”. The National Vaccine injury compensation program has paid out over $4.1 BILLION for vaccine injuries and deaths since 1989.

In August, the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that Australia had signed a deal with pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca to produce a potential vaccine being developed by Oxford University.

Explaining how the vaccine works, study lead author Professor Andrew Pollard, University of Oxford, UK, says: “The new vaccine is a chimpanzee adenovirus viral vector (ChAdOx1) vaccine that expresses the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. It uses a common cold virus (adenovirus) that infects chimpanzees, which has been weakened so that it can’t cause any disease in humans, and is genetically modified to code for the spike protein of the human SARS-CoV-2 virus. This means that when the adenovirus enters vaccinated people’s cells it also delivers the spike protein genetic code. This causes these people’s cells to produce the spike protein, and helps teach the immune system to recognise the SARS-CoV-2 virus.”

The volunteers of the phase 3 trials were given either the experimental COVID-19 vaccine or the meningococcal conjugate vaccine. The control group was not given an inert placebo such as normal saline but were given the meningococcal vaccine arguably one of the most dangerous vaccines. No vaccine in use has ever been compared to a saline placebo so none of those on the vaccine schedule can be considered safe. Therefore comparing this vaccine to the meningococcal vaccine makes no sense at all unless you are a vaccine manufacturer.

Just a couple of weeks after PM Morrison’s vaccine announcement in August, AstraZeneca ordered a halt to their phase 3 trials due to a severe adverse event — reportedly involving inflammation of the spinal cord — suffered by one of the trial participants. The media announced that the condition was transverse myelitis.

Transverse myelitis is a rare clinical syndrome in which an immune-mediated process causes neural injury to the spinal cord. The pathogenesis of transverse myelitis is mostly of an autoimmune nature, triggered by various environmental factors, including vaccination. Transverse myelitis has been associated with different vaccines including those against hepatitis B virus, measles—mumps—rubella, diphtheria—tetanus—pertussis and others, given to infants, children and adults.

This vaccine trial should be stopped for good. This promises to be one of the worst vaccines ever.

And this is not the only problem with the Oxford vaccine. According to an article in WIRED

‘After the first clinical trial for this vaccine began in April, for example, the researchers added new study arms in which people got acetaminophen every six hours for 24 hours after the injection.. Newspapers only said the vaccine had been proven “safe with rhesus monkeys,” and did not cause any adverse effects in those animal tests.

How rough a ride were people having with this vaccine? Was the acetaminophen meant to keep down fever, headaches, malaise—or all of the above?

It is important to understand that volunteers in vaccine trials are chosen from healthy people. If the Oxford vaccine is necessitating six hourly acetaminophen (panadol) and causing paralysis in fit people what will happen when it is rolled out to the general population so many of whom suffer chronic health.

Even worse is the news that this is the second time that administration of the vaccine has been paused in the UK, according to two people who took part in the study and to information sheets uploaded to a clinical trial registry. And it is the second case of transverse myelitis.

This is concerning, even more so when…

Six days after this abrupt and startling halt of their late-stage study of the Oxford vaccine for Covid-19, AstraZeneca is back in business.

Vaccination and other health procedures should not be forced on citizens against their will. I urge the independent members of the Victorian parliament to OPPOSE this new Omnibus Bill.

We must have the right to refuse unsafe vaccines without the threat of illegal detainment.

Victoria is a state I do not recognise. It is a place I no longer wish to be.
